Katherine Spellmon is a versatile soprano whose work encompasses concert performance, opera, and musical theatre.
In the 2025-2026 Season, Katherine joined the Dallas Philharmonic Choir as the soprano soloist in Schubert’s Mass in G Major. She also sang as a chorus member in Sarah Brightman’s Winter Symphony concert in Dallas. Katherine performed as the Prince in The Dallas Opera Education and Outreach Program’s production of The Little Prince. To conclude her 2025-2026 season, Katherine performed as Guenevere in Upright Theatre Company’s production of Camelot. Dallas Theatre Journal praised her portrayal of Queen Guenevere in Camelot for its “innate poise” and “clear vocal performance,” highlighting her ability to reveal “an undercurrent of curiosity, desire, and intensity beneath her royal exterior.”
Past roles include Little Mary Sunshine in Little Mary Sunshine, Barbarina in The Marriage of Figaro, Laeticia in The Old Maid and the Thief, Angelina in Trial by Jury, and Despina in Così fan Tutte.
Katherine received a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and completed her Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance at Southern Methodist University.
